In 1955, our grandfather, Haji Kareem Bakhsh, and his brother, Mian Peer Bakhsh, started the salt business in Lahore. They founded “Kareem Bakhsh Peer Bakhsh” in the Salt Market, outside Shah Alam Gate, Lahore, and became Pakistan’s first salt exporters.
During General Ayub Khan’s regime, they were honored with the title “The King of Salt”, a recognition of their hard work and strong determination that helped shape Pakistan’s salt industry.
In 1964, after a successful business journey, Haji Kareem Bakhsh and Mian Peer Bakhsh decided to separate their business operations and entrusted the next generation with new responsibilities.
Haji Muhammad Ishaq, son of Haji Kareem Bakhsh, took over and established “Ishaq & Company”, securing an excellent reputation in the market. Today, the third generation continues this journey with passion, courage, and innovation, proudly stating that:

In 2007, Muhammad Umar, son of Haji Muhammad Ishaq, revolutionized the business with a modern approach, founding “Pure Salt Company.” The company has expanded its product range, production capacity, and international reach by adopting advanced techniques, research, and innovation.
